New Parent Questions and Answers


Do you take my insurance?

Our office participates with many commercial and Medicaid insurance companies. The best way to find out if we participate with your specific plan is to contact member services for your insurance company and ask if we are a participating provider.

Is this a solo or group practice?

This is a group practice. We have 9 doctors. You can choose to see the same doctor every visit or see every doctor in the practice. The choice is yours. Visit our physicians page to get to know our team.

How many years have we been in practice?

We have been in practice for over 60 years.

What are your office hours?

Bingham Farms:

M, TH: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
T, W: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
F: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Sat: 8:00 AM - Noon

Novi:

M, T: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
W, TH, F: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

How will we reach the office if I have an urgent question after hours?

There is a nurse and/or doctor on call 24/7 for your urgent questions.

Are you affiliated with any hospitals?

Yes, our hospital affiliations are as follows:

Does the doctor see newborns at the hospital?

If you deliver at Beaumont or the Providences, we will be notified when you deliver and one of our doctors will be in to see you within 24 hours. If you deliver at another hospital, one of the hospitalists will see your baby while you are in the hospital. Regardless of who sees you in the hospital, we like to see all newborns within 1-3 days after being discharged.

Is e-mail available?

You can e-mail our office at anytime with questions or appointment requests. This can be done directly from our website contact page.

Can I see my child’s medical information online?

Yes, visit our patient portal to see your child’s information at any time.

How do you track my baby’s development?

We assess your baby’s development at every visit. At 9 months and 18 months we do an in depth developmental questionnaire to see how your baby is doing. A clinical staff member will contact your prior to your 9 and 18 month well visit to complete the assessment.

What are your dosage recommendations for Motrin and Tylenol?

The dosage of these common medications varies based on your child's age and weight. Our simple chart will help you find the appropriate dosage for your child.

What are your views on…?

Breastfeeding: We will work with every parent to set up a plan that works for them and their newborn baby

Antibiotics:  We do not prescribe antibiotics over the phone and are very careful to prescribe them only when medical necessary.

Immunizations: We follow CDC recommendations for vaccinations but we will work with every parent to set up a schedule that is best for the child and works with your goals.

Getting babies to sleep: All of our physicians can help you with sleep training.
